House Blessing Lady is about 13.5 inches long and made of gourd, seeds and small beads.
Traditionally it is hung over the front entrance of a home or a doorway to bring blessings and protection.
The Shipibo’s see and hear the patterns in nature and reproduce them in song and design for a variety of purposes such as protection, healing, abundance and harmony. Each of the designs has a specific meaning and can be sung as each of these artful prayers also function as a musical score, called an Icaro.
The design element and the Icaro operate cohesively to carry the power of the healing or blessing.
