Rattles call in power, energy and allies and are know to break up static energy.
These gourd rattles are hand carved with traditional design patterns by the Shipibo people of the Peruvian Amazon.
The Shipibo’s see and hear the patterns in nature and reproduce them in song and design for a variety of purposes such as protection, healing, abundance and harmony. Each of the designs has a specific meaning and can be sung as each of these artful prayers also function as a musical score, called an Icaro.
The design element and the Icaro operate cohesively to carry the power of the healing or blessing.
The gourd rattles are one-of-a-kind, have yarn and found bird feathers and measures about 10.5 and 9.5 inches long and widest part of the gourd is up to 8 inches in diameter. The design on the rattle varies.
