Description
This bag was made by the Shipibo people, an Indigenous tribe that lives in the Amazon Jungle, using cloth which was made with printed Shipibo designs.
The Shipibo see and hear patterns in nature and reproduce them in both song and design. These patterns hold specific energies, such as: protection, healing, abundance or harmony. Each design is a song that can be sung; the design functions as a musical score, called an Icaro. The design element and the Icaro operate cohesively to carry the power of the healing or blessing.
This bag is lined, has a zipper closure, an internal zipper pocket, and is well made and functional.
