The Deer is a sacred symbol of the spirit guide Kauyumari who leads shamans on their visionary path, and guides them to gain their special knowledge. When they appear together, they symbolize the male and female, symbolozing unity between men and women on their spiritual journey. The deer mother is a guardian spirit.
