Description
Rattles call-in power, energy and allies and are known to break up static energy.
These gourd rattles are hand-carved with traditional design patterns by the Shipibo people of the Peruvian Amazon.
The Shipibo see and hear the patterns in nature and reproduce them in song and design for a variety of purposes such as protection, healing, abundance and harmony. Each of the designs has a specific meaning and can be sung as each of these artful prayers also function as a musical score, called an Icaro.
The design element and the Icaro operate cohesively to carry the power of the healing or blessing.
The gourd rattles are one-of-a-kind, have yarn and found bird feathers and measures 7.5 – 10 inches long. The gourd is a medium spherical or round shape.
