13 x 11"

thread, cloth

This one of a kind textile was handmade and designed by the Shipibo Conibo, who live in Peru, in the Ucayali River basin, a feeder for the Amazon River. The Shipibo see and hear patterns in nature and reproduce them in both song and design. These patterns hold specific energies, and each design is also a healing msucial melody, called an Icaro. Both the design element and the Icaro work cohesively to bring the power of the cloth's healing and blessing.

The pink symbol in the center of this piece evokes the pink river dolphin that live in the Ucayali River, and are considered powerful healers, and a wise ally.

These cloths can be hung, framed, placed on tables, used as an altar cloth, or even incorporated into clothing.
