Rattles call-in power, energy and allies and are known to break up static energy.
These gourd rattles are hand-carved with traditional design patterns by the Shipibo people of the Peruvian Amazon.
The Shipibo see and hear the patterns in nature and reproduce them in song and design for a variety of purposes such as protection, healing, abundance and harmony. Each of the designs has a specific meaning and can be sung as each of these artful prayers also function as a musical score, called an Icaro.
The design element and the Icaro operate cohesively to carry the power of the healing or blessing. Possible designs you may receive include owl, fish, jaguar, butterfly, parrot, and others.
The gourd rattles are one-of-a-kind adorned with bird feathers and measures 7.5 – 9 inches long.
The gourd is a small spherical or round shape.
