Description

This one of a kind textile was handmade and designed by the Shipibo Conibo, who live in Peru, in the Ucayali River basin, a feeder for the Amazon River.

The Shipibo see and hear patterns in nature and reproduce them in both song and design. These patterns hold specific energies, and each design is also a healing muscial melody, called an Icaro. Both the design element and the Icaro work cohesively to bring the power of the cloth's healing and blessing.

These cloths can be hung, framed, placed on tables, used as an altar cloth, or even incorporated into clothing.

This textile is approximately 59" x 28"and made of embroidered woven cloth.

Artisans are compensated fairly for their art and sales of these items further support Indigenous led projects that perpetuate spiritual traditions in their communities.
