We are happy to share the success of our recent project, a collaborative effort with the Power Path School of Shamanism, to assist the Shipibo community in rebuilding the palm roof of their maloca. This sacred space is central to their cultural and spiritual practices, serving as a venue for family ceremonies and the vital dietas for the Kurin Metsa School students. The newly restored roof ensures that these traditions can continue unimpeded, providing a haven for learning, healing, and community gathering.

The Center has also been supporting the construction of traditional Shipibo massage huts. These spaces are essential for students to deepen their practices and techniques in Shipibo massage, a time-honored tradition that promotes healing and well-being. The massage huts provide a dedicated environment where students can focus on mastering these skills, ensuring the preservation and continuation of this invaluable cultural practice.

The Kurin Metsa School is thriving, with students under the guidance of Onanya Enrique, a respected elder and teacher. The depth of knowledge they are gaining is remarkable, and they are eager to extend their dieta practices.

 Plans are underway for field trips to the natural habitats of various dieta plants, allowing students to deepen their connection with these plants in their local environment. Additionally, there is growing excitement about the prospect of traveling to Enrique’s home village, offering students a chance to further immerse themselves in the traditional practices of their ancestors.
