In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, I figured that a teaching about the heart seemed appropriate. For indigenous people all over the world the greatest path of power is the path of the heart. The heart has 4 major ways of being, and when we work with them in their positive poles our true magic, and intention to manifest can shine. Is your heart open or closed? Full hearted, or halfhearted? Strong hearted or weak hearted? Clear hearted, or confused? When we are manifesting from the positive poles of these 4 ways of being, truly amazing doors can open up to you.
The heart is where our true selves lie, and when we have a clear line of communication to the heart we are able to truly understand who are, and what we truly desire. The mind is great at tricking us into thinking that it is the one running the show, but the mind is only a tool for navigating the physical plane. It is the home of the ego. It seeks to quantify, and limit our experience. It is comfortable with old patterns, rules, and predictability. The only power it has is the power we give it. The mind is only an object, whereas the heart is the subject. The heart is connected to the center of all things, and has unlimited potential. It is who you are at your core, and it is your connection to Spirit. Following the path of the heart is the true path of power.
The true nature of the heart is neutrality. It is where we are not attached to any outcome as positive or negative because we know that everything is perfect and just as it should be. If we consider the seven major chakras, the heart chakra is located right in the middle of the other six. The three chakras above the heart are positively charged, and the three below are negatively charged. It is the heart chakra that resides in the middle, or the neutral position. It sounds counter intuitive to think that the heart is neutral because it is always associated with strong emotion, and we guard our hearts from pain and suffering, or we open our hearts to love. But the truth is that we are at our best when we are neutral, and unattached. It’s where we can stop reacting to the maya, or illusion of the physical world, and start to remember our true nature as a part of Spirit. Walking the path of the heart is where we really begin to tap into our true power.
The path of the heart is not predictable, or set in stone. It has no step by step plan for success. It is a way of life. It is a way of living in the world where you surrender to Spirit, and allow the path of the heart to take you where it leads. Walking the path of the heart is not easy, and can require much sacrifice, but the reward is great. The reward is true power that can never be lost, and can never be taken from you. Money, people, and material things can come and go in your life, but true power can never be lost. When you have strong communication with your heart you are able to flow with the river of the universe. The past does not weigh you down, and you can keep a ‘don’t know mind’ about the future. With this perspective, and this mindset, anything is possible.
Here is a great exercise for clearing your heart, and bringing in the positive poles of the heart’s 4 ways of being: Stand outside and face the sun. Feel the warmth of the sun, and clear your mind for a moment. Now imagine the golden light of the sun entering in to the crown of your head, and in through the soles of your feet. As you breath in the light from above and below, imagine it traveling through a channel that runs directly through your body, and meets directly into your heart. As you breath out, imagine that you are filling up your luminescent egg, or your container with open heartedness. Breath the light into your heart again, and fill your container with full heartedness. Breath in the light again, and breath out a strong heart. Breath in the light once more, this time breathing out clear heartedness into your field. Do this as many times as needed until you feel the shift. There are many practices and meditations like this that can help you to open up that clear communication line to the heart. Like exercising a muscle, or learning a musical instrument, it just takes practice. The more you practice, the better you’ll get. The better you get, the more possibilities and limitless potential you will allow in to your life.
Happy Valentines Day!
